The largest database of file-sharing demographics ever!
The Survey Bay is a searchable database containing responses from 75.000 users from the global file-sharing mega-site The Pirate Bay, including demographics, information about their p2p habits and thoughts about the future of file-sharing.
The data is released in cooperation with Torrentfreak and free to search and use for all! Read it, use it, share it - and let us know the results! We are very eager to see what can be made with all this data.

Im from Czech Republic. I like original TV shows and movies more than dubbed ones in our TV. Id like to use some (paid) media service, but neither iTunes or hulu (or... you name it) is not available here. Thats mostly the reason Im limited to some (illegal) file-sharing.

I pay for media services when available (for music I used Rhapsody before, now Spotify Premium, never file share). Would do the same for movies if it was available (new international movies, HD quality, in France, when released), and stop file-sharing. Waiting for movie industry to adapt.

I think that until market options can match the ease and comprehensiveness of P2P sources, there will always be a demand for those networks (although how they will evolve and change is obviously something I cant predict). I do watch a lot of TV on Netflix in Canada and buy all music from iTunes (which I didnt used to do wh...

With all the tries to stop file-sharing, some will eventually succeed. If they cannot shut down the actual uploaders or site-holders, they will put all the blame on the downloaders. Theres a large chance that you could eventually get arrested for illegaly downloading a song. Even though the downloaders didnt steal anythin...

Your questions on how often were badly phrased. I share less than once a month but the only options were More than once a month or Never. Also you asked for gender, male or female. Male and female are sexes, not genders. It’s a common mistake but gender either refers to nouns or socially constructed personalities. When ...
